Its lustrous center seems so small and vulnerable compared to the myriad of tentacles expanding off it from nowhere and into nowhere, and yet somehow it exudes this aura of magnificence, of power, like an otherworldly cousin of a sea angel given life on land! ]

There's that interesting bracelet he got from his trip to the new crystal as well, but he's already decided that's only for emergencies. If something isn't used enough it atrophies, be it a muscle or a habit. He won't let that happen, not as long as he has enough sense left in him to help it.
