(you can pm me here or on plurk if you'd like to beforehand, but also if you'd just like to drop something at my doorstep with no preamble please do!!)
[ There are two sides to this scale, so close to equal in weight that they wobble minutely, up and down and up and down, warring for which will win.
On one side: Yoshizawa is a genuine person. A respectful one. If there was any hint that Akira wouldn't like to talk to him, it's unlikely that she would make this suggestion. She's bold and daring too, yes, he knows this well... but of all people, he cannot imagine her going against what's in Kurusu Akira's heart. It must be open to Maruki, then. Even if it's only by a sliver. Because she is offering it, it must be true.
On the other: There is no one more skilled at concealing what's in his heart than Kurusu Akira. His pains, his desires, his needs – all of it is guarded under lock and key. Maruki saw it for himself, long before he could tap into the collective unconscious. It's entirely possible that Akira doesn't want to see him, to talk to him, but that he hasn't shared the depth of that with Yoshizawa, has instead put on a more pleasant mask that matches her own desires.
It's possible, yes...
Perhaps it's even probable, but...
Is this another effect of a changed heart?
Maruki wants so badly to believe something this important to him could work out, the scale tips, and he spares a glance away from the road to smile at Yoshizawa with nothing but pure hope. ]
He really would? You sound certain about that...
[ Beneath his excitement there are nerves, of course. It tempers his tone a bit, makes it tremble just slightly at the edges. ]
I'll need to work a few more hours after I drop you off, but maybe after I'm done... I could come by to see you both?
he's a WEIRDO!!!!!
